What does the future hold for America?

Chinese economy overtakes Japan as #2, behind the US.

While the Japanese economic stagnation, borne out of a country's inability to be real and make tough socio-political choices regarding its sick banks (multiple government sponsored mega contruction pork did not work :(, sorry Keynsians), is over 20 years old, ours in the US is only a baby @ 3.

Watch out Washington, though, because in about 5 years America may be looking at the Chinese economy through our collective windshields. We are a country lost at sea - with a 2 term disaster called W, and now a hopelessly impotent White House (not that Mr. O managed much of the 'Yes, we can' reform platform, while enjoying a super-majority in both houses for 2 years). The excess, friends, was not contained to only the housing/real-estate/mortgage markets. The federal government got punch drunk, and we are overextended on most fronts, while millions are unable to find jobs, and continue to lose their homes, and their American Dream.

I love America! We have done it before, and we have the goods to do it again, but the platitudes, and the hollow words have to stop. Advice for Congress: Stop jerking Americans around, and do what is rightly needed to save the United States from becoming another Japan.

Those who do not pay attention to history rarely stay around to tell the stories.

Good night, and Good Luck!
